13 October 2003 - The company that were supposed to modify my webcam to take long exposures broke it. I could not afford another. They 'were financially unable to help and pleaded innocence'.
GREAT news: Mr. Charles E. Floyd of Phenix City, USA took pity on me and send me a new webcam as well as a Baader UV/IR filter free of charge. Thanks a lot.

10 August 2004 BAD news again. During the past 2 months industrial pollution got VERY bad at my current observatory location (farm plot). I am urgently looking for a new location. Then I will be busy full time adding webcam pics to this website. ( I plan to add at least 100 pics a month - I am unemployed and bored - so I will have no excuse. )
It is the end of Winter here now, so many people around us burn their ugly dry grass farm plots in preparation for letting it grow all by itself again. Informal settlements - with their cooking fires - also grow like wildfire . Hartbeespoort is growing VERY quickly too. Last year there were 3 families on this plot - there now are 7 - soon to be 8 ( each with new houses ). It is not uncommon to have 5 to 7 high-smoke-content fires visible daily from where I stay - some people light their massive fires at night ( thinking its smoke clouds will then bother no one ).
The air around Johannesburg is cleaner than my air - since the people in the Hartbeespoort area are not limited by city central pollution restrictions. I MUST find another location.
Out of sheer boredom, I bought www.spiral-galaxies.com. I have been creating content for it during the past 2 months. I just uploaded all this complete website (27 August 2004) BUT still have not tested it thoughrougly. If you are curious, please look around, but give me a week to check everything works properly.
