Disclaimer: This is only my first try at comparing the 2x and 3x Barlow lenses. I was curious and did the tests anyway. So here are the tentative results ...

For its size, the f/10 image is (in my opinion) the most impressive of all.

In this particular test, the f/10 image shows more detail than the f/30 image.

The f/10 imaged enlarged 2x is inferior to the actual f/20 image.

The image captured using f/20 and then enlarged to look like f/30 is very impressive. It was able to handle the magnification well.

In this particular test, the f/30 image is a dissappointment. It is larger than the other images but show less detail and is a bit fuzzy too. Since this is my first night using the 3x Barlow I do not consider this to be an indication of its potential performance.

Further images (and after I gained more experience) later during July 2003 proved the 3x Barlow to be able to give CLEARLY better images than the 2x Barlow.
